Spotlight on "Mélanie Dion"..DYI

Le mouvement ‘Queen Sized Flava…Made in Montreal’ a pour but de promouvoir la mode de grande taille sous tous ses angles et sur tous ses styles. C’est pourquoi je tenais absolument à faire un billet sur Mélanie Dion qui est l’essence même de ce que le mouvement QSF cherche à faire connaître. J’ai rencontré Mélanie alors que j’assistais un concert de musique alternative. Elle portait une coiffure hallucinante fait de dreads synthétiques multicolores et était vêtue d’une tenue que je n’avais jamais vue auparavant et dégageait une telle assurance. J’ai presque eu à la suivre toute la soirée pour réussir à lui parler parce qu’elle était toujours en train de danser. Laissez-moi vous dire qu’elle a de l’énergie à revendre donc j’ai dû attendre longtemps. Alors, c’est avec plaisir que je vous présente Mélanie Dion qui est mannequin, maquilleuse et également membre d’un groupe de musique.

The ‘Queen Sized Flava…Made in Montreal‘ is and will always be about promoting plus size fashion in all the possible ways and styles. This being said it brings me to why I wanted to this post about Mélanie Dion which embodies what Queen Sized flava is all about and we want to share with the world. I met Mélanie in an alternative concert and I remember her wearing these colourful synthetic dreads and an outfit that I had never seen before with such confidence. I almost had to follow her around the entire night in order to be able to talk to her. She was all over the dance floor and let me tell the girl can move. Therefore it’s with a pleasure that I’m introducing to you the make up artist, model and musician Mélanie Dion.

Voici une petite entrevue avec Mélanie:

I made interview with Mélanie but since it's french here's what it was all about:

Name:Mélanie Dion

Location: Laval, Québec

Occupation: modeling, hair dresser and musician

Style preferences: She appreciates the current trends but clearly states that it's not for her. She describes her styles as D.I.Y "do it yourself" punk rock. Since she knows how to sow it's easy for her to make something out off nothing which is also one the main goal behind the rebel punk rock attitude.

What about being a plus size chick in the punk rock world?: She explained to me that since having a punk rock style is mainly about creating or modifying your clothes size does not matter.

What makes her beautiful? : She is a colorful person inside out which is the reason why often strangers will randomly approach her.

Where does she shop?: additional, wal-mart. winners, torrid

What does she think about our local plus size fashion ?: Of course, if we compare our self to the Americans he don't have a lot but it's also a duty for the people concerned to voice their opinion about the issues.

SMM20: Ralph Leroy

Homme d'affaire, mannequin, créateur de bijoux et designer sont tous des termes distincts et pourtant ils pourraient tous être utilisés pour décrire cet homme. En effet, le designer d'origine haïtienne Ralph Leroy est un homme aux talents multiples et incontestables. Le 7 février dernier, dans le cadre de la 20e édition de la Semaine de Mode de Montréal, Ralph Leroy présenta sa collection automne-hiver 2011-2012 intitulée « Élément-Air ». De manière audacieuse et branchée avec ses choix de couleurs, cette collection s'adresse principalement aux femmes de pouvoir mais aussi à la gente masculine.

Des tailleurs et des manteaux confectionnés à base de laine, de soie et de dentelle qui m'ont carrément fait rêver puisque j'ai une terrible attirance pour le rouge.

Le concept artistique du défilé a capté l'attention du public qui, sans le moindre doute, semblait apprécier.

Et vous serez heureuses d'apprendre que lors d'une conversation avec M. Leroy, j'ai appris que tous les morceaux de la collection 2011-2012 seront également offerts en taille plus. Je n'ai pas obtenu toutes les informations, mais je compte cependant me tenir informée afin de m'assurer de pouvoir me procurer quelques morceaux de cette collection.

Alors c'est un A pour Ralph!

Businessman, model, jewelry and clothing designer are all distinct terms, yet they could all be used to describe this man. In fact, the designer of Haitian descent Ralph Leroy is a man with multiple and undeniable talents. On February 7th for the 20th edition of Montreal’s fashion week Ralph Leroy presented his fall / winter collected 2011-2012 entitled "The Air element" Using bold and trendy colors this collection dedicates itself to powerful women but also caters to man.

Suits and coats made from wool, silk and lace literally made day dreams since red is my favorite color.

The artistry behind the fashion show commanded attention of the public .

And you will be pleased to learn that during the conversation with Mr. Leroy I learned that all the pieces of the collection 2011-2012 will soon be offered in plus size. I was not able to obtain all the information, however I intend to keep a close watch on any updates so that I make sure to get some pieces of this collection.

So it is A for Ralph!

The Heel Condom...Un condom à talon

Heel condoms…Ohhh Lordddd!!!

In case where you would want to practice safe fashion here what I found for you ladies heel condoms and YES I’m dead serious heel condoms is the actual name. This is how it works, all you have to do is to insert the skin on your heel and a little elastic going under your foot will hold everything together. The heel condom was made to fit any high or medium size stilettos. Price wise there are also affordable since the price range from 20 to 39 usd(…of course!) but still how amazing can this be?!? Can you imagine that with theses pieces you can make one pair of black stiletto have so many different looks…CRAZY!

En fait, le condom à talon est simplement la traduction directe de l’anglais pour ‘Heel Condom’ et le mode d’emploi est très simple: Vous devez tout d’abord enfiler le revêtement sur le talon et le tout sera retenu par un petit élastique discret qui se glissera sous votre pied…trop fresh!!

Ce petit accessoire est également très abordable parce que le prix varie de 20 à 39 dollars américains (…bien sûr!). Ils sont également conçus pour les talons aiguilles très hauts ou moyennement hauts. Alors imaginez tous les différents styles que vous pouvez créer…ahhh c’est trop fou!!!
